CLASSIC GUACAMOLE

One of those extras I don’t mind paying for at a restaurant is a good guacamole.  I don’t think I have ever ordered a veggie burger or a burrito bowl without it.  Avocado is the main ingredient in guacamole and it is sometimes misunderstood as being a “bad” fat, but it really is very healthy.  According to the American Heart Association avocado can actually help decrease bad cholesterol.

Thank you Metzger Cartoons for this one!!!

There are so many recipes out there, but I still like the simple classic guacamole and here is mine:

  • Place two ripe avocados peeled and pitted in a small blender.
  • Add one large garlic clove
  • Juice of half a lemon or lime (or combination of both is lovely)
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.

Mix all ingredients together until blended as you like.
