EASY STRAWBERRY FLAXSEED JAM

If you’re looking for an easy and healthy alternative to traditional jam this recipe is calling your name.  Only 4 simple ingredients and its ready the next morning!  The flaxseed is the key ingredient that thickens the fruit to a spreadable jam consistency.  Feel free to use another berry, but you may need to adjust the amount of maple syrup to your personal sweetness preference.

If you are using fresh strawberries wash and remove stems.

Cut into small pieces, place in pot and simmer for 6 – 7 minutes.  How do you like your jam, smooth or chunky?   Use the back of a wooden spoon to help break down the strawberries to the texture you prefer.  Remove pot from heat and stir in rest of ingredients.

Let cool and place in glass container with sealed lid.  Keep in refrigerator overnight to set.  Jam will keep in refrigerator for 2 weeks.

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen organic strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons ground flaxseed
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice

Instructions
